Former Speed World Challenge GT Champion, Jeff McMillin, Returns To Speed World Challenge GT

Erie, PA. (Jan. 4, 2004) – McMillin Motorsports, LTD will launch two PTG-prepared BMW M3s in the Speed World Challenge GT series. Jeff McMillin, 2000 SCCA SPEED World Challenge Champion and team owner, will drive one of the BMW M3s. The second seat is available for full season. In 2003, the powerful red, white and black M3s were successfully driven by PTG drivers, Bill Auberlen and Hans Stuck, who finished second and fourth place respectively in GT drivers points. Following a one-year hiatus, McMillin is on a mission to win the 2004 GT Driver’s Championship with his beautifully prepared BMW racecars.

Jeff McMillin began racing professionally in 1994 in the IMSA Firehawk series with 66 career pro starts, 5 race wins and a 79% top-10 finish history. McMillin Motorsports Ltd. was created in 1996 and won the Speedvision Cup Championship a year later driving a BMW 328is. Jeff made his World Challenge debut in 1998, recording three top-five finishes in T2, driving a BMW 328is. In 2000, Jeff piloted the #25 McMillin Motorsports BMW M3 in the GT series with top ten finishes in all ten races, capturing the 2000 Speed World Challenge GT Championship. Auto sports journalists and broadcasters began referring to McMillin as, “Mr. Consistency.” In 2001, he introduced a new BMW M3 E46 and took fifth-place in GT Driver’s Championship Points. In 2002, he recorded seven top-five finishes and eight top-tens, securing fifth place overall in GT Drivers Points. Although Jeff was forced to sit out the 2003 racing season due to recovering from neck surgery, he has fully recovered and ready to race in 2004.

McMillin looks forward to the stiff competition that lays ahead for 2004. Jeff and team engineer, Kent McCray, are confident that their research and development will keep them ahead of the competition. “One thing is for sure,” comments McMillin, “you haven’t heard the last from McMillin Motorsports!”
