MILLER MOTORSPORTS PARK, Tooele, UT -- This weekend the Turner Motorsport BMW race team returns to a track that has been very kind to them on every occasion. The Miller Motorsports Park outside of Salt Lake City, Utah has hosted the Grand-Am Koni Challenge series since 2006 and a Turner BMW has taken top honors in 3 of the 4 races – a GS class win last year and the GS and ST wins in 2006. All three Turner Motorsport BMWs have something to live up to for the 2008 round at Miller Motorsports Park and you can catch the race live at the track or on The Speed Channel, September 27th at 3:00pm ET.

Matt Alhadeff was last year’s race winner in the GS class and he will be defending from the seat of the #96 Motul Lubricants/StopTech Brakes BMW M3 with his co-driver Bill Auberlen. The two have combined for three podium finishes this year, including the last race at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

Posing a serious challenge to their effort will be teammates Don Salama and Bryan Ortiz in the #97 H&R Springs/Nova Derm/OCG/GoToPuertoRico.com BMW M3. Ortiz and Salama have been among the fastest cars in the series all year, starting from the first or second row at four races this season. Salama won the ST race here in 2006.

In the ST class, VJ Mirzayan and Matt Bell will again pilot the #95 H&R Springs/Borla Exhaust BMW 330i. This is the same car/chassis that won here in 2006 with Don Salama and Will Turner driving. The Bell/Mirzayan combination has been a consistent and steady top-ten effort all year long, scooping up a second-place finish at Iowa. They should feel comfortable on the Utah track – it’s the closest the series will get to their California homes and it’s a track that the BMWs naturally perform well at.

Will Turner, team owner, winner of the 2006 ST class race: “We like to see Miller Motorsports Park on the schedule because it suits our cars very well. The track has a lot of long, fast, and sweeping corners and our H&R BMWs are hooked up well. Historically, we’ve done very well here and at the next race at Virginia Raceway. We’ve won 3 races here and clinched championships at Virginia so we’re upbeat as we head into the final two races of the season.”

Turner Motorsport races in the Koni Challenge series with some of the best names in motorsport and street technology - H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, Borla Exhaust, Pagid Brakes, Motul Lubricants, and Piloti Driving Shoes.

There is a full schedule for the Koni Challenge teams this weekend. Practice takes up Thursday and Friday. Qualifying takes place on Saturday morning. The 2.5 hour endurance race begins at 11:15AM local time on Sunday. The Koni Challenge shares the race weekend with the Grand-Am Rolex series, staging their 1000 kilometer season finale on Saturday.
