BMW Dealer Team UK heads north this weekend for the eighth meeting of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship at Knockhill, Scotland.
Accident Exchange-backed Mat Jackson currently lies in fifth place in the overall series and is eager to continue his fight for Championship points. So far this year, the 27-year-old has enjoyed six rostrum finishes and, with a brace of wins to his name, he will be looking for more valuable points as the UK's ultra-competitive series enters the final stages of the ten-round Championship.
Last year, Jackson finished inside the points in two races at the hillside venue and if rain prevails, as forecast, it may be that the Henley-in-Arden-based racer will once again capitalise from the wet weather conditions in his rear-wheel drive BMW 320si and enjoy more podium success.
Jackson commented, "It's crucial that we come home with points in all three races this weekend. Yes, we generally go well in the rain but we can't count on that. I enjoy Knockhill and the team is eager to make headway in the standings. I will only be carrying nine kilos in qualifying so hopefully this will translate into a strong grid position in race one which, with a bit of luck give, will us a good start to the weekend."
Team Principal Tony Jackson commented, "The team always looks forward to the trip up North, not least of all to enjoy the wonderful Scottish hospitality, the fans are always so welcoming and enthusiastic and they turn out in large numbers on both days which makes the journey well worth while."
Qualifying for rounds 22, 23 and 24 takes place on Saturday 16 August at 16.00 with the treble bill of races taking place on Sunday 17th August at 11.10, 13.50 and 16.30.
