"It has certainly been a season of ups and downs and coming into Road Atlanta, I feel like we are hitting on all cylinders both as a team and behind the wheel," said BimmerWorld's owner/driver James Clay about the team's season to date. "We just got back from testing and I feel good about our upcoming race weekend."

2008 has been a mixed bag of results for the team from Dublin, Virginia. A win in August at Elkhart Lake by James Clay has certainly added momentum to help BimmerWorld close out the season on a high note. The team has made a huge leap forward in competitiveness, and Clay wants to end the year in style. "I had higher expectations than having our three drivers in the top 10 in points coming into this year; we're hungry for a championship, but winning two of the last three races will go a long way as a consolation prize."

With the cars carrying added support from sponsor GearWrench for the Road Atlanta finale, Clay's says his BMW E90 team is gaining strength at just the right time. "I was excited to work with them through the full season, and the increase in their support is certainly welcome. It is a valuable partnership to the team and one that not only helps the racing effort but helps the guys on the team who are able to have boxes full of GearWrench tools to make their jobs easier."

For Seth Thomas, driver of the #38 BimmerWorld/GearWrench BMW, the growth of GearWrench's participation is a sign of bigger and better things to come. "I think GearWrench stepping up their support of BimmerWorld is just perfect - it’s a great way to end a great year. They have helped the BimmerWorld crew make our cars front runners and our E90's always show up at the track ready to go because of them."

The Road Atlanta race comes after a six week break - Nick Esayian, driver of the #34 Debt Cures BMW E90 has used the opportunity to take his fitness regimen to the next level. "I need that elusive podium if I am going to climb back into the top 10. I've really started to work a lot more on my fitness over the last three months. I'm working with a trainer four days a week and I can certainly notice the difference in terms of core strength, stamina, and focus."

The BimmerWorld team has also turned up their pre-race testing program up a notch; Esayian expects to see the results show up this weekend and even into next season. "The team has tested for a few days as well so we are poised for a big finish to the season. The season has had its challenges but we are finishing on a high note and I am confident we will be positioned to take command at Sebring in March."

While BimmerWorld makes its home just north in Virginia, the rolling Georgia track has been their 'home' race for many years. James Clay knows their usual supporters will be out in force and flying the BimmerWorld BMW flags around the 2.25 mile circuit.

"Virginia International Raceway was added to the schedule this year and is geographically our home track, but we have called Road Atlanta our home for the last bunch of years and it is the track that our fans and friends are accustomed to supporting us as the home team. I can't wait to get there and get to some racing!"

Georgia-native Seth Thomas has his sights set on one thing this weekend: winning. After starting on the front row and leading in 2007, only to see his dreams of a win taken away near the end of the race, Thomas has redemption firmly in mind.

"There's no pressure or anything, especially after last year..." he said with a grin. "Honestly this is probably the best chance for my first win. The cars have been great -- they've really come into their own in the last few races. With this trend continuing at Road Atlanta, it gives me in the best shot for the win. My predictions for the race is that you will see a repeat of VIR but possibly with a BimmerWorld sweep of the podium!"
