Team RAC head to Oulton Park next Sunday (27 July) for round seven of the HiQ MSA British Touring Car Championship looking to build on another successful weekend at Snetterton.

In Colin Turkington, Team RAC boast the in-form driver in the BTCC. A string of podium finishes since Thruxton in May has seen the 26-year-old muscle his way into the Overall Driver championship hunt.

Stephen Jelley continues to show his promise in the championship with only contact from Fabrizio Giovanardi and Matt Neal at Snetterton denying the Leicester-born driver points finishes in races one and two.

Colin Turkington lies fifth in the BTCC Driver Standings, a solitary point behind Mat Jackson and 11 points behind Jason Plato, while Stephen Jelley is 15th with seven points. Team RAC head the Independents Team Standings with 202 points.

Dick Bennetts, WSR Team Principal, commented: We are all looking forward to the weekend and some good racing at Oulton Park. It is a track where we have had success in the past.

The guys in the workshop have done a superb car in preparing cars that have been extremely reliable and we are heading to Cheshire with the aim of securing more valuable points for Team RAC.

Colin Turkington said: The last few rounds have been great for both the team and on a personal level. The team worked tirelessly to secure a podium finish at Snetterton a result I'm not too sure many people outside of our garage expected.

I did well in qualifying at Oulton Park last year and secured a victory so the team has every right to go into the weekend with optimism.

Stephen Jelley added: Oulton Park is my favourite track. I cant say why, but it just is! It is a circuit where I have always scored well in the past. The fans are always great in the North West and have a real enthusiasm and knowledge of motorsport.

I am feeling more and more comfortable in the BMW320si. We've got a great car and I am really looking forward to next weekend as are the entire team.

RAC will continue its season long promotion to win a BMW. Fans can go online at teamrac.co.uk for a chance to win a car and a host of other top prizes. Image (Team RAC Gallery)
