A strong weekend at Barber adds to Turner Motorsport's 2007 KONI Challenge season successes.

BARBER MOTORSPORTS PARK BIRMINGHAM, AL (July 22, 2007) Turner Motorsport went 2-for-2 at Barber this past weekend, with 2nd place finishes in BOTH the Grand Sport (GS) and Street Tuner (ST) classes. The team's drivers showed exceptionally strong performances this weekend, earning them podium spots in both races. With the season winding down, Turner Motorsport stands on excellent footing to defend their 2006 Championship title.

Turner motorsport drivers Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood piloted the #95 H&R Springs/ Borla Exhaust BMW 330i to a second place finish. Burrows made a clean start from his front-row qualifying spot, and pressured the eventual winner for his entire stint.

This strong runner-up showing increases the lead in the Street Tuner Championship standings by giving Burrows and Hopwood a 6 point lead over their competition.

"I was just focused on getting a clean start and from there, I just settled into a comfortable pace," said Burrows. "Even though I was trying to save the tires and the brakes, things got pretty slick at the rear of the car by the end of my stint. But I held on and just worked on being consistent so I could turn it over to Trevor, who did a great job to bring it home like he did."

"The Turner guys gave us a smoking fast pit stop, and that was a good enough gap for me to make sure that Pierre (The 3rd place finisher) couldn't get us," said Hopwood. "I saw him coming at the end, but we had enough in our pocket to hold onto the position. "

In the GS race on Sunday, TMS drivers Will Turner and Don Salama piloted the #97 H&R Springs / Stoptech Brakes M3 to a 2nd place finish of their own. In the opening stint, Turner moved quickly up to third place before handing the car off to Salama under a green flag pit stop. Salama rejoined the race in mid-pack, but swiftly moved up through the field to capitalize on the team's pit strategy. By lap 63, he had moved his way to 7th and up 5 more places to 2nd by lap 66, where he would finish the race.

Teammate Bill Auberlen turned the fastest lap of the race early on in the #96 Motul Lubricants / Turner Motorsport M3, but was hit from behind on lap 21 by a Mustang who had lost his brakes, which sent him off into the gravel and damaged his car considerably. The Turner crew was able to send him back out re-join the fight, albeit a lap down, but Auberlen's top twenty finish still netted valuable points.

This strong weekend at Barber adds to Turner Motorsport's 2007 KONI Challenge season successes.

With 9 out of 12 races completed, the TMS team has had 9 podiums out of 9 races in both classes, and can boast Top 3 finishes in 50% of the races. This includes a recent GS victory at Lime Rock Park in May.

Turner and Salama have captured the Pole position four times this year, and have started on the front row an amazing 6 out of 9 races.

Turner Motorsport's ST class efforts have put Koni Challenge rookies Burrows and Hopwood in the starting front row an impressive 4 times this year, helping them solidify their lead in the ST Driver's and Team Championships by 6 points, with only 3 races to go.

And, in perhaps the most telling mid-season success, the team has led more laps in all races than any other team – proof that Turner Motorsport has truly continued to lead the way in 2007.

The Turner Motorsport BMW team enjoys the support of some fantastic automotive companies - H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, Borla Exhaust, Motul Lubricants, Pagid Racing, and Piloti Driving Shoes. Each is a world-renowned champion in their respective fields and their contribution to the Turner Motorsport team is invaluable.

The Koni Challenge series race action resumes August 17 to 19 at Le Grand Prix de Trois-Rivieres in Trois Rivieres, Quebec, Canada.
