In Front of Home Crowd Turner Motorsport Shines

LIME ROCK PARK, Lakeville, CT - May 26, 2007 - Turner Motorsport BMWs added another notch to their Lime Rock heritage by putting both H&R Springs BMWs on the pole position in their respective classes. And then in today's KONI Challenge Street Tuner race, Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood re-gained the lead in the championship after a fifth-straight top ten result. The Grand Sport race will be on Monday.

In ST qualifying, Adam Burrows gave the #95 H&R Springs/Turner Motorsport BMW 330i its first pole position of the year. In the race, Burrows kept the #95 330i at the front of the 28-car field. After handing over to co-driver Trevor Hopwood, the Turner BMW looked assured of another top-five finish with Hopwood returning to the race lead. However, an accident with another car forced a pitstop and the Turner pit crew did a fantastic job getting the car back out into the heat of battle where Hopwood brought the car home in tenth place. With the points from their fifth-straight top ten, and misfortune for their closest competitor, Hopwood and Burrows re-gained first place in the overall ST Championship standings.

Will Turner, team owner:
"This was a textbook team effort today. Adam and Trevor did a great job with the driving duties and the Turner Motorsport crew did everything they had to do to keep the car on the track even after that accident. We're lucky to have this crew working for us. And they also built a great car for me and I put it on the pole for Monday's GS race."

For the Grand Sport class, Turner Motorsport's two BMW M3s were expected to do well. In last year's race Chris Gleason and Bill Auberlen won the GS class (the third win in a row for Auberlen in a Turner BMW). This year, the #97 H&R Springs/Borla Exhaust BMW M3 co-driven by Will Turner and Don Salama will start from the pole - the first for them in the GS M3.

Don Salama, #97 H&R Springs/Turner Motorsport BMW M3
"For us to start on the front row for our home track is not only a thrill but gives us a better leg up on our competitors. Will Turner could not have put us in a better position for Monday's race. Something always interesting happens but the Turner crew is top-notch and we just have to do our part."

Lime Rock is an action-filled weekend with the Grand Sport race will kick off Monday's action at 10:00am. It's slated for 400 kilometers (163 laps, 2.5 hours).

The SPEED Channel will be broadcasting the GS race on June 10 at 3:00pm ET.
