DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jon Miller and Owen Trinkler are teaming up to pilot the No. 90 Automatic Racing BMW M3 during next week’s Fresh from Florida 200 at Daytona International Raceway.

Miller and Trinkler are both making their debut with Automatic, though neither one is a stranger to the Grand-Am KONI Challenge Series. Miller, who is just 21 years old, first competed in the series last year. After a successful run in the Skip Barber Formula Dodge RT2000 Southern Region, Miller moved up to KONI Challenge and the Spec Racer Ford SARRC Regional Championship for 2006.

In addition to his racing schedule, Miller is also a political science major at the University of Central Florida in Orlando and an instructor for the Skip Barber Racing School.

“I am really excited to be working with Automatic Racing and I have great confidence in them to make sure that I have the best possible car for the race,” said Miller. “Test days went really well and I got to solidify my relationship with Owen, who I also have great confidence in.”

Trinkler has competed in KONI Challenge for the past few years, and even at just 29 years old, he already has a racing resume that spans over 20 years. From karts to NASCAR Supertrucks, Trinkler has been an active racer in a number of series and disciplines. The Nashville, Tenn., resident passes along his racing know-how as an instructor for the Panoz Racing School, the Audi Driving Experience and the Porsche Driving Experience.

“I’m really pleased with the times that we were able to do in testing,” said Trinkler. “I’ve been a competitor against Automatic, so I know the team and what kind of organization they run. I think we’ve got a really good shot at doing well.”

The No. 90 Automatic Racing BMW is sponsored by Weeden Consultants, a transportation solutions company. “We’re pleased to be a part of this team,” said owner Scott Weeden, who was introduced to Miller and the team through a mutual friend. “Jon is a great person and I’m happy to be associated with him and with Automatic Racing.”
