Halifax,NS / Cape Coral,FL February 26th, 2007-02-26 Team KMA Racing will offer young karters the opportunity to experience a first-hand, inside look at everything involved in a Formula BMW Championship weekend, a very important experience for young drivers considering an advancement into open-wheel racing. Two intern positions will be open at each event weekend on the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship schedule, and are open to karters who live in the area of the races.
Interns will receive crew member credentials, work with the Team in the paddock and pits, from the early mornings until our job is done. They will meet all our drivers, and have free time to talk and roam about the paddock when schedules allow. They will also be introduced to the race administration and organizers, the cars, the inner workings of our team, de-briefing of our drivers, maintenance of cars and equipment, and more.
“Team KMA Racing, with teams in the Indy Pro Series and Formula BMW USA Championship, has always been proud to be associated with young karters, as most of our drivers were karters prior to their Formula racing careers. It is important to all race teams, regardless of what class they are involved in, to foster growth in karting clubs,” stated Ingo Strackerjan, Team KMA co-owner and Formula BMW Team Manager. “We would therefore like to offer young karters the opportunity of a lifetime; becoming a Team KMA Racing crew member for the weekend that we race in their City.”
At the end of the race weekend, interns will be presented with a poster, signed by all drivers and crew; payment towards their next kart race; and the uniforms they receive at the beginning of the weekend will be theirs to keep.
Internships are limited at two per race weekend, so karters are urged to apply as soon as possible. Karters who are interested, should go to www.tkmar.com and write to us a short note with your karting experience and why we should select you for this weekend".
