BMW Team PTG driver Bill Auberlen recorded his second consecutive and third
pole position of the season in today's 20-minute qualifying session for
Round 6 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Infineon Raceway in
Sonoma, Calif. Auberlen - the only GT driver in the 1:41 bracket - recorded
a 1:41.560 lap around the 2.52-mile circuit in his No. 7 BMW Team PTG M3.

Hans Stuck's 1:42.903 was his fastest time of the weekend and he'll start
fourth in the No. 8 BMW Team PTG M3.

Boris Said, in the No. 6 BMW Team PTG M3, will start just behind his 2001
Team PTG teammate Stuck in sixth (1:43.535) and next to the seventh place
No. 80 BMW Team PTG M3 of Justin Marks (1:43.650) when the 50-minute Speed
GT race makes its standing start at 8:50 a.m. tomorrow.

BMW currently leads the Speed GT Manufacturer's Championship and BMW Team
PTG drivers stand third (Auberlen), fourth (Stuck), sixth (Marks) and eighth
(Said) in the Driver's Championship.

BILL AUBERLEN, NO. 7 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (first):
"It was greasy and hot today and the conditions are not what we are
expecting for the race so we will not make any set-up changes. I went for
the one fast lap and it was fast enough."

HANS STUCK, NO. 8 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (fourth):
"I am quite happy as I did not think I could go below a 1:43, but the M3 is
where I like it. I had a small drama passing a competitor and had to put two
wheels off in the dirt, but everything came out OK. I only did the one timed
lap and did not want to push harder."

BORIS SAID, NO. 6 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (sixth):
"We missed the last practice session yesterday and we tried to make some
changes before qualifying that did not work. I got one lap in and then the
red flag (due to a car into the wall) did not allow us to go any quicker."

JUSTIN MARKS, NO. 80 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (seventh):
"I was tight in all the high-speed corners all weekend, but loose this
morning. I am only one second out of third and at the end of the fast group
so that is not so bad. We have a good starting spot for the race. I just
thought we would go a little faster today."

TOM MILNER, OWNER BMW TEAM PTG:
"It is always nice to be in the front, but I am not completely happy as I
think we made a few mistakes that cost us some better positions for the
other three cars. Bill and his crew have been on their game this weekend and
have made improvements in every session."

TOM SALKOWSKY, MOTORSPORT MANAGER, BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC.:
"It is wonderful to see BMW Team PTG and Bill Auberlen on the pole. Bill
appears to be having what looks to be an exceptional weekend. Infineon is a
track that favors the handling and braking abilities of the M3 and all four
of our cars are in the top seven. In addition, this is probably the
number-one track for support by our BMW Car Club members. Every time we come
here we appreciate and value all of the cheers we get at Turn 2 and all
around the circuit."
