Bill Auberlen, in the No. 7 BMW Team PTG M3, led both practice sessions
today for Round 6 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championships at Infineon
Raceway in Sonoma, Calif., setting a time of 1:42.462 around the 2.52-mile
road course in the afternoon session. He was one-half second faster than his
1:42.950 time from the morning session.

The No. 8 M3 of Hans Stuck was fourth (1:43.751) and the No. 80 of Justin
Marks was sixth (1:44.538).

The day was trouble-free for Team PTG until Boris Said's No. 6 M3 of Boris
had a mechanical problem on the first lap of the second session and could
not complete a lap. Said's time from the morning session (1:43.227) put him
third on the day.

Tomorrow's single 20-minute qualifying session is scheduled for 11:40 a.m.
with the 50-minute race scheduled to start at 8:50 a.m. on Sunday.

BILL AUBERLEN, NO. 7 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (first):
"That time in the last session was me looking toward qualifying. I wanted to
get my mind in that kind of mode. We will qualify and race earlier in the
day when the air and the track will be cooler, but we do not plan to make
any changes. I think we are there."

HANS STUCK, NO.8 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (fourth):
"Maybe I could go a bit faster, but I am looking toward the race. I want to
finish as high as possible and score points. The M3 is now where I want it."

JUSTIN MARKS, NO. 80 BMW TEAM PTG M3 (sixth):
"I still have some time to find, but the good news is that my M3 was just as
good at the end of the session as it was at the beginning. We have been
moving in the right direction and I am getting more confident, especially
under braking. I think that if we play our cards right on Sunday we will
have a very good finish."
