Day two - Wednesday

Weather conditions: Dry and overcast, air: 11-15°C, track: 13-20°C

Number of cars participating: 14 (15 drivers)

Fastest lap overall: 1:18.637s, Fernando Alonso, Renault R26, Michelin

Jack Villeneuve :
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-07 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 365 km (71 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:20.673s (lap 48)

Nick Heidfeld:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-06 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 143 km (28 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:21.878s (lap 25)

Robert Kubica:
Chassis / engine: BMW Sauber F1.06-06 / BMW P86 V8
Test kilometres today: 257 km (50 laps)
Fastest lap: 1:20.568s (lap 30)

Nick Heidfeld started the day in chassis 06, but after the morning had a muscle twinge in his back and so the team decided Robert would take over for the afternoon.

As planned Jacques concentrated on aero work in the morning and dampers and a short tyre test in the afternoon. Nick's morning was spent on set-up work. For Robert the afternoon was spent tyre testing for Michelin.

What comes next:
For the final day of the test Robert will be the only driver. The team will prepare both cars for him so he can complete the tyre validation work, along with the aero and damper work as planned.
