One-Day M School and a New Program for Golfers Highlight the New Offerings Geared Up for the New Year
Spartanburg, SC - February 15, 2006... The BMW Performance Center today released its schedule of performance driving school programs for 2006, including the debut of the intensive One-Day M School, among the new offerings. Additionally, all Performance Center driving programs will feature an expanded fleet of vehicles to include different BMW models, offering participants a variety of product experiences.

“Our driving schools are open to everyone, from the driving novice to the ultimate auto enthusiast looking to hone their skills by learning superior handling and defensive driving techniques from professional driving instructors,” says Diane Nevelle, manager of driving programs and events for the BMW Performance Center. “We have added a one-day M School this year to provide another convenient option to drivers wanting to enroll in one of our most popular programs. While the all-new BMW 3 Series is the car we use in most of our programs, we also include BMW models such as the Z4 roadsters and the 6 Series models so that participants can experience a broader range of vehicles while at the BMW Performance Center.”

What’s New in 2006:

* The One-Day M School offers plenty of exhilarating performance driving time behind the wheel of a BMW M Model. Participants will experience the advanced handling and traction control systems of these high-performance vehicles as they learn practical skills and avoidance maneuvers on the Performance Center’s slalom course and ultra-slick skid pad. This program was added to the Performance Center schedule in response to customer requests for “the same M in half the time.”

* The Two-Day X School is an exhilarating alternative to the typical getaway or family vacation that utilizes the X3 and X5 Sports Activity Vehicles to demonstrate on and off road handling capabilities. The first day is spent at the Performance Center learning driving skills such as braking exercises and the various active systems that highlight the added safety benefits and capabilities of the BMW X vehicles. Skills learned on day one will be necessary to negotiate the aggressive mountain trails of Chimney Rock Park the following day. The final destination is the BMW exclusive Hickory Nut Falls at the pinnacle of Chimney Rock Mountain, a beautiful 404-foot waterfall.

* Golfers take note – the BMW Performance Center has scheduled the first Drive Fore Drive program of 2006 for April 6th– 8th. Drive Fore Drive is a two-and-a-half day program created for enthusiasts who enjoy their time on the speedway as much as their time on the fairway. Day one of Drive Fore Drive features an intensive curriculum of advanced car control techniques such as braking, cornering and accelerating on various sections of the Performance Center driving course. The second day of the program features driving of a different sort, as participants can play 18 holes on the Thornblade County golf course enjoying the beautiful Carolina weather.

Popular BMW Performance Center programs including the two-and-a-half day M Driving Experience and X Driving Experience, Teen schools and One and Two-Day Car-Control Clinics have returned to the roster for 2006.

All BMW driving programs begin with thorough classroom instruction followed by extensive driving time on BMW’s course which can be configured 35 different ways and uses special features not found in most driver training programs.

Gift certificates are also available for each driving program. For more information on the BMW Performance Center and its programs, call 888-345-4BMW (4269).
