Chicago, IL (2/17/2005) – “I’m thrilled to announce the addition of Michael Tesch as Anchor Racing’s Team Manager,” announced team owner, John Munson.  “Michael’s expertise in automotive engineering and racing will be a vital addition to our team.   Our goal is to win the Grand Am Cup Title, and Michael is the man to help us do it,” added John.
"I am elated at the opportunity that John Munson and Anchor Racing has given me.  I look forward to working with the top-notch team John has assembled," stated Michael.  Tesch is ASE Master-Certified Technician and has been in the auto industry since he was 15 years old.  He began racing in 1990 and continues to compete in the SCCA club racing and several pro series. “This year in my free time, I will be campaigning a Z06 Corvette in Touring 1 in SCCA National Club Racing,” reported Tesch.
This season, Tesch will be busy managing Anchor Racing’s four BMWs.  Munson and James Sofronas will be driving the No. 92 Anchor Racing BMW M3.  Rick Skelton and Joe Foster will be sharing driving duties in the No. 93 Anchor Racing/Hyper Sport Engineering/BMW M3.  Veteran driver, Boris Said and Anders Hainer will be back in the No. 99 Anchor Racing/UnderArmour/BMW M3. Said’s next racing stint will be this Sunday, where he will start 41st in the prestigious NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Daytona 500, driving the No. 36 Centrix Financial Chevrolet for MB Sutton Motorsports.
Along with the three BMW M3s in the GS class, Anchor Racing will field the No. 72 BMW 330 in the Grand Am Cup ST class.  “We ran the BMW 330 last year and spent the winter months developing the car.  The car is in top form for our next race at California Speedway ” explained Munson.   Sharing driving duties with Munson in The No. 72 BMW 330 will be Tim Probert and David Scott.
Round two of the Grand Am Cup will begin March 11 at Santo Domingo.  “Although we had some tough breaks at Daytona, our cars are strong and we look forward to podium finishes throughout the season,” said John.  Anchor Racing is dedicated to winning the Grand Am Cup Championship in both the GS and ST classes.  The silver BMW M3s will be sporting their official team sponsors: Anchor Mortgage, Anchor Group, Anchor Development, and America’s Second Harvest.  Anchor Mortgage CorporationSM    For more information on Anchor Racing, visit www.ANCHORRACING.com.
