OOLTEWAH, Tenn. (5/26/2004) – Chili Pepper Racing, LLC ( www.chilipepperracing.org ) heads north to compete in the second round of the Speed World Challenge Touring Series at Lime Rock Park, Conn. The team took advantage of the two-month hiatus to prepare their cars for this season’s tough competition. Following Sebring, the No. 24 Chili Pepper Racing/BMW 325Ci returned to the race shop in Tennessee for extensive testing. “My brother, John (co-team owner and crew chief), has spent a great deal of time on car development and preparation. We are excited to see how well the No. 24 Chili Pepper Racing race car performs at Lime Rock,” comments Jim Osborn, co-team owner and driver. “Lime Rock is an exciting track. You never know what is going to happen when you race on a small track with over forty cars.”
The No. 25 VAC Motorsports/BMW 325i also returned to its shop in Philadelphia for further testing and development. Due to limited development time with their new equipment at Sebring, the No. 25 experienced mechanical problems and was unable to finish the race. VAC Motorsports has performed extensive tests on the car and are diligently working on the final details of the No. 25 VAC Motorsports/BMW 325i. “I’m excited to compete at my home track where I have the support of my friends and family,” reports Eric Curran, driver of the No. 25 VAC Motorsports/BMW 325i. “I know that VAC Motorsports/Chili Pepper Racing has worked hard in building strong cars. VAC has put a lot of effort in the past two months in increasing the performance and reliability of the No. 25 and I’m looking forward to being competitive at Lime Rock.”
On their endless pursuit of helping others, Chili Pepper Racing and VAC Motorsports are committed to winning and serving the medical needs of the underserved. The team is proud to promote three main charities during the 2004 season: Remote Area Medical (www.ramusa.org), Light House Family Retreat (www.lighthousefamilyretreat.org), and T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital (www.erlanger.org). The No. 24 and No. 25 BMWs will be sporting the charity logos on their cars.
