Ooltwah, TN. (February 22, 2004) – Chili Pepper Racing, LLC ( www.chilipepperracing.org ) is pleased to announce partnership with VAC Motorsports ( www.vacmotorsports.com ). Eric Curran ( www.ericcurran.com ) will be piloting the #25 VAC Motorsports/ Chili Pepper Racing/ Remote Area Medical BMW 325i in the Speed World Challenge Touring Car Series. Chili Pepper Racing Team owner and driver, Jim Osborn, reports, "Chili Pepper Racing is proud to partner with VAC Motorsports and Eric Curran. VAC Motorsports and Curran will be a powerful combination in winning the Speed World Challenge Touring Championship.”
Curran has a vast amount of racing experience and Championship wins including: 1997 and 1998 in the SCCA ITB, NARRC and NERRC Championship. In 1999, Curran secured the SCCA Valvoline Runoffs AS National Champion and won Rookie of the year in the SCCA Jim Fitzgerald Rookie of the Year award. In 2000, Eric started six Speedvision GT races with three top-fives and six top-10s and won three Borla Performance awards. In 2001, Curran finished 16th in drivers points in Speedvision GT in a Chevrolet Corvette C5 with two top-fives and three top-10s. In 2002, Eric ran two Speed GT events in a Corvette Z06 with one-top five finish. In 2003, Curran finished with two top tens and one top five running in only six races in the Speed World Challenge Touring Series driving a Nissan SE-R. Curran looks forward to joining the Team for the full season, “I’m excited to be driving a rear wheel drive BMW 325i with VAC Motorsports/Chili Pepper Racing. I know that VAC Motorsports team owner, Tony Salloum, is committed to winning the championship series. Tony and VAC Motorsports has built a strong car and they will continue to develop the car this season. We have a great shot at winning the championship.” VAC Motorsports looks forward to competing a full season in a BMW 325i with Chili Pepper Racing and Eric Curran.
