1990 BMW e30 325i 2001 Corvette

« on: Wednesday, September 29, 2004 - 01:53 AM »

I'll get it started.
Owned since:  August 28th, 1998.
Began modifications around October of 2003.

e30 M3 Springs (free) (installed by myself and Fabian)(4 hours)
Lemforder e30 M3 / e36 M3 front offset control arm bushings (special price from Turner Motorsport, article coming soon)(installed by me)(4 hours)
new control arms ($62.00 each)(right side installed by me)(2 hours)
new tie rods ($35.00 each)(installed by me)(1 hour)
Gabriel shocks ($100.00)(installed by myself and Fabian)(4 hours)
New driver/passenger seats ($250.00)(installed by me)(1 hour)

the jams:
Kenwood in-dash CD player
Kicker Competition VR 12" Sub's
SONY XPLOD XM-D500X 1,100 WATT MONO-BLOCK Amplifier (replaced Kenwood KAC-927 400 Watt Amp)

coming:
right rear wheel bearing (coming very soon)(purchased 09.28.04 for $50.00)
steering rack
front and rear sway bar links
front and rear new sway bars

The goal of this car is to build it based solely off of the sponsors of cars that race in the SPEED World Challenge and American LeMans Series.  Next up is to do a painjob to make it a BMW Art Car.

updated pic's - the 2nd pic is from Feburary of 2000 - POS camera, ancient picture...when the equipment was about 2 years old.  Came out of my brother's e30 and the box, and presentation was built by a friend Zack in 1998.  I've gotta build a new presentation for the amp, because the new one is coming in here in a day or so.

installed the new amp tonite - it sounds good, just gotta tune it up and install the crossover.  It's got more punch than the Kenwood had, and noticably less distortion.  The Kenwood was over 6 years old, and technology really does follow car audio.

I'll have pic's soon of the new rack and install, gotta tune it up, maybe over the weekend have the sound perfect.

Are those are true a two or three piece design?  I like the look of a multi-piece rim.  Very ALMS.

2 piece

thanks Ilir

they do hold the road better on turns than the 14's - better turn in too, gets in and out of turns faster, and stops with less effort.  big improvement, the 'plus sizing' works if everything else around it is set up correctly.  springs, shocks, brakes, control arm bushings - all of it makes it come together nicely.

hey Jeff you wouldn't happen to want to sell them Bottle caps would ya?

They are 4x100's right?

They'd look nice on my VW... since those came stock on my car and some jackass got rid of them in favor of some ghetto bling wal mart brand crap wheels...
