Why do people only come together to say good things about one another, when the person has passed?

Why not tell these things to them while they're here?

They can't hear this now...why not just tell them often?  It's better than 'far and few in between'.

That is a good question...why don't we tell those we love that we love them. Why do we wait until it is too late. Are we afraid to say it, afraid of rejection, afraid of looking weak? I don't even tell my kids I love them EVERYDAY. Yes I know I should, but I am willing to bet that I have let that lapse a time or too. Thanks for bringing this up.
