Formula One's newest addition from the American side has been Brook Johnston from the Formula BMW Int. series. With a Championship win in hand, STR Racing has asked the 21 year old driver to be testing for Red Bull in 2009-2010 in a Formula One car. Many have hoped he would show some American blood in the sport. After being hospitalized this past season from crash in Italy's Monza circuite, Johnston has appeared to be shaken after finishing the season and has yet to show in any after season races or practices. Red Bull has assured the press that Johnston is ready to race in December and January, yet no word of whether the driver is for sure has been said. No American involvement in F1 = another year of disappointment .
