FBMW International: Sauber Red Bull Racing's Brook Johnston's Monza Trauma

Sauber Red Bull Racing just released that championship leading FBMW International driver, Brook Johnston, has been cleared from Milan's Azienda Ospedaliera hospital yesterday and will be resting and training with the team in hopes of possibly getting back in the car this weekend. Johnston's incident happened on Sunday afternoon where he encountered a broken right front spindle on the suspension causing the car to loose control and hit the tire barrier in turn four. Johnston is said to have acquired critical injuries and possible head trauma from the impact of the crash. Formula BMW International officials have not said whether Johnston will be cleared to race this Sunday, however Sauber Red Bull Racing has also said that they will be ready to use backup driver Billy Goosen if needed this weekend, to remain in the points. Johnston must be cleared by a medical doctor and undergo several tests of physical ability in order to drive in this weekends race. This is looking grim for the number five Sauber Red Bull driver, and it could possibly end his season and shot at a Formula One ride in 2009.

Cole Collier won this weekends race which puts him right behind Johnston in the standings. That is not good for the American's race for the championship.
I hope he comes back for the race in Germany
