The Formula BMW Americas series along with ALMS and the Toyota Atlantics Championship will be racing in Monterey, California at Laguna Seca Raceway May 16-18 and will hold several fun public events such as a concert, car shows, autograph sessions by drivers, etc... The event will be dubbed the Monterey Festival of Speed and tickets can be purchased at the Mazda Laguna Seca Website. The event hopes to promote all three series and looks forward to some close racing.

Formula BMW International Team Sauber Red Bull Racing will be present at Laguna Seca with both of their new drivers as well signing autographs along with a presentation of their cars on Friday. The team leads the Championship in points with driver Brook Johnston at the helm and top spot, and teammate Matt Jaskel in third. Much criticism has taken place over the series thus far and for this new team that Sauber Red Bull has introduced. With scheduling conflicts between other racing and track schedules as well as a budgeting crisis, Sauber Red Bull Racing looks to dominate the series and has recently unveiled their new cars at Phoenix International Speedway. However, the new BMW F2008 chassis proved to be in need of lots of work and adjustment during qualifying, placing Johnston in 7th and Jaskel in 14th. With a championship hope in mind and a hefty and unlimited budget, Sauber Red Bull Racing looks forward to placing both of their drivers in the top 3 positions. The race will be held at Phoenix International Speedway on May 21st.
