I just discovered this forum. Finally an M42 E36 specific board. Although I thought it was going to be strictley E36 M42 stuff on this board not the other stuff but thats OK I'll take what I get.

Welcome aboard. While this site isn't exactly E36 M42 specific, there are quite a few of us. If it has a roundel on it we want to see it.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I'm at a constant quandry about what to do about the M42s lack of power. Do I put a DASC on it, a custom turbo, go N/A M47 crank S52 pistons or a combination of turbo and M42 stroker. I do love the light and balanced feel of my car right now with the M42 in it but I'm so tired of being left behind by moms in their minivans. The turbo stroker M42 is the most intreaguing but also the most expensive. I could do the utmost sacrileage and put an SR20DET or LS1 in the badboy but non of these options are cheap. You see what I mean now I'm even more confused.

DASC all the way. It is too easy for gobs of power. And if then you get real ambitous you can keep going from there. But it keeps all the balance and the drivebility is still there.

Its a Calyso Red 92 318I with matched painted 96 & up bolt on rocker panels hiding that ugly gray paint. Yuck... I also have a matching red Cosmo CAI which actually affected the driveabilty for the worst. No chip yet though, maybe thats why it runs worst.
