Anyone else with an E36 fixed the bad radio reception?  I have read several threads elsewhere and many complain of it.  But I haven't read of a clear cut fix.  I've had the C-pillar cover off and checked the connections and everything seems tight.

Twice I have ahd the C-pillar cover off in drivers side rear seat.  Mounted to the inside of the body is the radio antenna signal amplifier.  I have read some posts about that thing acting up.  It looks like both the AM and FM antenna is mounted to the window.  Everything seems tight and grounded.  Saturday I tried pulling the head unit out to make sure the antenna is pluged in to it, but I couldn't get it to come out.

I figured this one out.  The previous owner had a installed a Jensen CD tuner unit in the dash.  The BMW antenna wouldn't plug into that unit.  So he cut off the OE end of the antenna lead and spliced in a standard antenna lead.  He had them just twisted together like you close a loaf of bread with a twisty.
