If something comes up that I could get a different car in the next year or so this might be a possibility. It looks like you find one with under 80k miles and selling in the low $20's. Not bad for a car that sold for over $70 new. Now, I know the red one is a euro model M8 850csi and not a real option and the black one has a body kit. But, still wow. And a 840i won't look any different.

I've had this fantasy as well, it's a great great great looking car... But the fantasy changed when I sat in it, and my head was hitting the roof....

a BMW M8 is a real car.
Back in 1998, the car club days - one of our members had a black M8 - maybe it was imported, and I didn't know jack about BMW's back then - even though I've owned them since 1995

Yes, a euro V-12 manual was sold as a M8. Very rare.

I've only seen 3 8 series here in Orlando in all of the time that I've lived here - the M8, an 850CSi (which kicked my ass off the line from conway road and curry ford) and a green 840Ci in winter park.

Easter weekend I found one on e-bay that was selling and it was only 50 miles away from here. I couldn't get out to look at it before it sold. I'm dying to sit in one. I have never seen one one the road around here.

There was never an M8, the 850CSi (with sports package) had an S70 engine which had ties with the Motorsport department, wasn't a real M8, but some like to call it that. This S70 engine was also available in the McLaren F1, so you might call it the F8 .

The guy won't let me in garage to take a picture!!! It is still just a dream right now. If things fall right I should be able to upgrade by the end of the year. Not real sure which way I will go.

My attempt at humor may have too subtle, I meant the car still belongs to someone else and the car is in that person's garage.

Oh, it is far from hideous. In fact, it is one of the most famous sports cars in the world.

this weekend? I see several hundred hondas per square mile every 5 minutes, I find it hard to believe I'll find any supercars here in Orlando.

Bingo, you're a winner. Like every other guy I have always been intriqued by the 911. I've never been in one. I have seen plenty, but never real up close and poking around in the interior. I also didn't think I would ever really buy one because two seat cars are so impractical. My last vehicle was a two seater and after our daughter was born it became a problem. But now I'm to palce where I might be able actually afford to buy one. I thought I was fairly sure what I would do when I replace my current car. And then I see this back seat, it changes everything. I also know that it is not much of a seat. My daughter is 5 now, and we would have to go and sit in one, but it might work for a few years. Rethinking everything.... .....

There is a '95 911 for sale two miles from my house. I've got everything but the $27,600. I'm still thinking...... it will be a few months before I can really try to start putting something together.
