2000 VW Passat 1.8t

« on: Sunday, January 30, 2005 - 12:27 AM »

We have a customer that rents vehicles from us on a monthly basis, he drives the most mint 325IX E30 I have ever seen. Well a few weeks ago I asked if I could look at it and he said sure after I explained I was a BMW/VW/Aud/ anything European fiend...

I popped the hood and viola! There sat the biggest damn turbo I have ever seen. Well not really it was just a T3/04 but still I immedeatly was like "HOLY MOTHER! You turbo'd it? nice! I bet it gets it huh?" well after he told me the details of how and why he did it (complete custom and to go faster duh...) he took me for a ride. It launched so hard, harder than a WRX nothin like an AWD turbo launch...

Well today he came in and I was like "hey man, you gotta let me take that thing for a drive up the road PUHLEAZZEY!" and to my surprise the keys were flying in my direction. It was glorious. I did a few AWD launches up to 110 then took it around this corner we drift the rental cars around, usually no faster than 30 but I took the IX around it at 40, then 50, then 60 and then I got scared...

it was so awesome... he was standing there on the lot watching yellin FASTER! IT'LL DO IT FASTER! C'MON!

He completly built the motor to handle the turbo so I think it will def. last. The drivetrain i'm not too sure about I dont know enough about the AWD systems on the IX to say if it will hold up.

The outside of the car is near mint, just usual dings that are to be expected on a near 20 year old car...

He hasnt been back in yet but when he does come back I'll get some pics.
