Now it's hitting closer to home.  This happened yesterday, and it was 1/2 mile from my house.  If you read the story, you'll see this guy had a knife and slashed at this lady.  I don't know how many times I've said, at work, lunch, whatever, that women should get a concealed weapons permit and carry a firearm just in case this happens.  It's happening all too often right now, especially home invasions.

Think about it - this lady didn't expect it to happen to her, she thought it would be somebody else...that's where the first mistake is.

Me, Jeff, CWP holder and I carry a Springfield XD .45 ACP daily.  It's not so much that I'm nervous/scared that something will happen, but, the fact is, it doesn't even much exist anymore.

3 of my best friends carry also.  Doug, Dan (both carry Springfield XD .45's) and Fabian, carries a Ruger P89 9mm, for home defense, even for his girlfriend, needed something with less power that she can safely handle.

Jeff,
Great post. I have a CCW and I carry everywhere I can. I also carry a Strider SnG and a Emerson Commander, both of these are knives as it isn't always possible to draw a gun. During a close quarter situation, a knife may be your best option. Never forget a back-up. Stay safe
