found an 1988 e30 M3 in the auto trader - white w/burgandy interior, 19k miles, for $12,800.

Who was it that said, "Once you go black you never go back"', oh wait, that was a different forum. Sorry. Something about that car seems just a little odd. The owner has to be some kind of enthusiast and has to know some one else in the BMW community that would gobble up a car like that. Real 19k original mile M3 E30's aren't that plentiful and don't don't make it to autotrader. I am always overly skeptical of internet listings.

Jeff,
I agree about black cars. It is a super pain in the rear to keep clean, but it looks oh so pretty when it is. this is my third black car and I probably won't change colors again for a long long time. As far as the M3, I wish I had a spare 12K's laying around. Brother can you spare a G?

Like Henry Ford said "you can get it any color you want, as long as it is black." I love black cars, especially E30's.
The Jetta is getting a Flat Black paintjob soon.
I wish I had an extra 12g laying around too...
