Title: FBMW Int. Declares American Brook Johnston as the FIA World Champion! Post by: BMW CSL Crazy on Monday, August 25, 2008 - 05:49 PM After watching the World Finals of the Formula BMW International Championship in Spain this weekend, I can only say that it was a very interesting series to follow all season long and I think it has great things to offer for future racers. It was great getting to see the kind of talents that bring together some of the young guys from around the world and I would bet we will be seeing many of them in the future in larger forms of motorsports. After all that is the idea behind the series. Yet if you've followed the series you'll know that the American driver from Sauber Red Bull Racing just completely took the series and the World Championship this past weekend as expected. He had won six out of ten races and posted six pole positions this season and just dominated in this series. I think many of us expected the Championship to go to Johnston but he certainly battled his way through several tough situations, an accident and not to mention the tough competition to get here. I know he is or had done some testing for Scuderia Torro Rosso's program in F1 but I wouldn't be suprised to see this guy in something like IRL or Nascar so keep your eyes watchful. Overall, great series and it was fun to watch.
