Title: ABS Sensor
Post by: Jeff Seabrook on Saturday, August 28, 2004 - 08:44 PM
where is it located on the e30?

Most of the time when I take a hard right turn on the brakes, and it's bumpy - the ANTI-LOCK light comes on - is it a sensor - and if so, where at?

I beleive it is right by the pad wear sensor... don't hold me to it jeff but I think I remember mine being there...

mine was always on because I never re-connected it when it came off... lol

most probably the pad sensor, either that or your abs computer is on the fritz!

hope that helps:

the
ABS sensors are getting bad signals, due to scum that accumulates
in the toothed, gear-like sensor on each wheel, and/or magnetic
scum attracted to the sensor itself, which is just a coil of
wire wrapped around a magnet. If one or more of the sensors
is thus 'confused', the ABS computer senses the abberent rates
of supposed rotation, and takes itself off-line - switching on
the light.
