Title: What I did on my summer vacation. Post by: DeanP on Sunday, September 24, 2006 - 10:11 PM This summer I got back into biking. Long ago I was pretty active in cycling, but drifted away from it. I needed to get back into better shape and biking is about the only exercise I want to do for any extended period. I found a pretty good older Trek 1100 for sale in town and have been riding it most of the summer. So far I've lost about 30 pounds and feel better. I still have a ways to go, but this will get me there. Some time next summer I will probably be looking to trade up. It is funny some of similarites of bikes and bimmers, the culture, the upgrades and the snobbery.

I'm doing about a hundred miles a week. I would like to get down to 250 lbs, so about 20 more to go. Don't know if I'll get it done before winter completely sets in.
