Title: What I did on my summer vacation.
Post by: DeanP on Sunday, September 24, 2006 - 10:11 PM
This summer I got back into biking.  Long ago I was pretty active in cycling, but drifted away from it.  I needed to get back into better shape and biking is about the only exercise I want to do for any extended period.  I found a pretty good older Trek 1100 for sale in town and have been riding it most of the summer.  So far I've lost about 30 pounds and feel better.  I still have a ways to go, but this will get me there.  Some time next summer I will probably be looking to trade up.  It is funny some of similarites of bikes and bimmers, the culture, the upgrades and the snobbery.

Still keeping with it?  I've tried new things, but never kept it going, you know?  I want to pump some iron this new year...tried last time, didn't go too far.

Oh yes, still with it.  Will be going out in a few minutes, as soon as we get some sun shinning.  I'm doing about a hundred miles a week.  I would like to get down to 250 lbs, so about 20 more to go.  Don't know if I'll get it done before winter completely sets in.
