Title: Cars in Barns Website
Post by: DeanP on Wednesday, January 05, 2005 - 01:54 AM
Found an interesting site, especially if you are a fan of American muscle cars.  www.carsinbarn s.com  The site chronicles classic American muscle cars that are just rotting away in some guys field, barn or pig lot.  Kind of sad when so many different guys would give them nice homes.

What the hell is a dixi?  He does the cars divided into groups and their is a classic section.  My brief glance through there looked like real domestic cars.

You dont know what a DIXI is????? shame on you, that was the first bmw ever built!!!

---from my old site---
In 1924 there were 2194 employees in the Eisenbach factory, which built the first Dixi's.
The charm of the DA1 Dixi 3/15 is still clearly recognizable, the last of these 4831 machines were built more than 60 years ago
Mechanically, they are practically the same as the Austin Seven, including the synchronized 3 speed gearbox and an 748 cc engine

Dixi 3/15 DA4

Also in this Dixi 3/15 DA4 the basic design of the Austin-Dixi is still very recognizable. Next to the limousine version, there were also open versions.
With the 3/20, in 1932 the first own construction BMW was presented. The engine was still based on the engine from Austin, but it has now got  head valves.
