  • BimmerWorld's Capestro-DuBets and Liefooghe Score Top-3 at Daytona Season Opener
Breaking into the professional ranks of any sport is a pressure-packed endeavor, and for a young driver like BimmerWorld Racing's John Capestro-DuBets, the need to deliver a strong performance in his first pro race was critical. Thankfully, the 21-year-old Californian not only performed well in his professional debut at the GRAND-AM 200, he completed a dream weekend by standing on the famed podium at the historic Daytona International Raceway. After earning a third-place finish in the grueling 2.5-hour Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season opener with his teammate, veteran driver Gregory Liefooghe, the pilots of the No. 81 BimmerWorld BMW E90 celebrated a top-3 result to open their account on the 2011 season. Starting seventh, Capestro-DuBets, known as 'JCD' to his teammates, looked poised within the 77-car field during his turn at the wheel. Handing off the car to Liefooghe, the duo raced their way to third to start the year in spectacular fashion. "This is a dream come true...

  • BimmerWorld Prepared for Second Season of GRAND-AM ST Competition
For some teams, finishing second in a major auto racing championship would be received in a positive light--as an indicator of how much progress had been made. For BimmerWorld Racing, the 2010 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Street Tuner (ST) class runner-up, finishing second has only served to fuel a relentless off-season of work to make sure it doesn't happen again. Speed, reliability and consistency were hallmarks during BimmerWorld's 2010 ST campaign, but despite the team's collection of wins, pole positions and fastest laps, improvements in every area of BimmerWorld's program were targeted for 2011. Led by long-time crew chief Jason Marks, the Dublin, VA-based BMW experts tore through their two BMW E90 chassis to freshen and improve each component and system in preparation for the season opening race this Friday at Daytona International Speedway. While the technicians at BimmerWorld have paid special attention to improving their cars, the same focus has been plac...

  • BimmerWorld Ready for GRAND-AM GS Debut at Daytona
After an intense off-season dominated by building two new cars for the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Grand Sport (GS) category, the BimmerWorld Racing team is ready to unload their BMW M3 V8s at Daytona International Speedway to go racing this week at the season opener. Drawing from a year of success in the Street Tuner (ST) division, BimmerWorld made the bold move to expand their Dublin, Va.-based GRAND-AM operation from two cars to four in 2011 with the addition of the No. 78 and 79 GS entries. Built on the heavily refined E92 chassis platform, the BMW experts at BimmerWorld have crafted their finest racing cars yet after drawing from more than a decade of knowledge gained from racing the German cars. Team owner/driver James Clay, who will pilot the No. 79 BimmerWorld BMW E92 M3 with Seth Thomas, says fans can expect one thing from BimmerWorld's new GS cars and drivers: "Excellence! BimmerWorld Racing revealed today an energized roster of sponsors and partners for the 2011 GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge season. BimmerWorld's familiar blue, white and yellow colors will continue to dress the team's two BMW E90 Street Tuner (ST) entries and its two new BMW E92 M3 Grand Sport (GS) cars, but fans will find a revised livery and new sponsors in CRC and Johnstone Supply featured prominently in both classes. GearWrench and Chin Motorsports will also return to support BimmerWorld's four-car team. CRC Industries, known for its range of popular specialty automotive chemicals, has sponsored BimmerWorld for some time, but as CRC Industries marketing manager Julie Williams explains, CRC's expanded support of BimmerWorld matches the increased promotional value the team offers with its GRAND-AM racing activities.
