  • Bimmerworld World Challenge - Sebring Race Notes
Radford, VA ? The Sebring race weekend was much less successful than expected for the Bimmerworld World Challenge team.  Plagued by supplier problems, the team arrived at the track with three cars still without engine wiring harnesses.  The crew functioned flawlessly and with help from Sunbelt Performance Engines, had three complete cars by the time of the race on Friday.  Unfortunately, the needed testing and setup and testing time was forfeited.  Two cars were finished in time to qualify for the race and in the hands of rookie Seth Thomas and James Clay, the cars were placed in the 23rd and 24th positions on the grid.  Due to a wing measurement change with fuel load, the #38 car driven by Seth Thomas was moved to the back of the field for the race start.  Matt Richmond in the #37 car started at the back of the grid on Friday with no qualifying time....

Unfortunately, after my third and last stop I exited the pit lane behind Rubens. I tried to pass him but then I preferred to back off as I did not want to compromise a good second position. I realised at this point that the most important thing was taking home some valuable points for the team and for myself....

Located south of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's cosmopolitan capital, the Sepang circuit is a state of the art, purpose-built facility, one which guarantees drama both on and off the track. With speeds reaching 200mph on the two fastest straights and falling to as low as 50mph through the tight, twisting corners, Sepang is a technically challenging circuit for both man and machine. However, with overtaking opportunities at an optimum for a Formula One track, next weekend's race will provide a perfect stage for the drivers and a thrilling spectacl...
