  • TMS PODIUM STREAK EXTENDS TO FIVE STRAIGHT
    Burrows And Hopwood Assume Championship Lead IOWA SPEEDWAY, Newton, Iowa (April 24, 2007) -- The Turner Motorsport BMW team extended their streak of podium finishes with a third place in last weekend's Grand-Am KONI Challenge race at Iowa Speedway. Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood, as rookies in the Street Tuner class, are now leading the Championship with their H&R Springs BMW 330i. TMS pilots have finished on a podium in each race this season and five straight, including the last two races of 2006. The Turner M3s made a strong early showing in the Grand Sport class but trouble ended promising finishes for both. In the Street Tuner (ST) class, the #95 H&R Springs/Turner Motorsport BMW 330i started from fifth place on the grid of 25 cars.   • Automatic Racing’s Thornton and Segal Third in KONI Challenge at Iowa
    Newton, IOWA – Jep Thornton and Jeff Segal gave Automatic Racing their first KONI Challenge podium of the season in a flawless race at Iowa Speedway on Saturday. The No. 09 Fresh from Florida BMW M3 was ideal for the short Iowa circuit, and smooth pit stops partnered with expert driving gave the team third in the Grand Sport race. Automatic Racing had an excellent showing at Iowa. Tim George, Jr. and Conrad Grunewald sailed to a sixth-place finish, the best showing for the No. 91 Gleukos-sponsored BMW this year. David Russell and Tom Long fought their way from last on the starting grid to fifth before late-race contact resulted in a finish of 11th for the No. 99 Fresh from Florida BMW M3. Jon Miller and Owen Trinkler put on a show for the fans at Iowa, remaining in the top five until late in the race, when contact from another car relegated them to a 24th-place finish in the No. 90 BMW.   • TURNER BMWs ADVANCE IN GRAND-AM CHAMPIONSHIPS
    Twin Second Place Finishes Propel Turner Motorsport To Championship Lead HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY, Homestead, Florida (April 17, 2007) -- Turner Motorsport BMWs scored twin second place finishes in this past weekend's KONI Challenge races at Homestead-Miami Speedway in South Florida. Both the #96 StopTech Brakes/H&R Springs BMW M3 and the #95 H&R Springs/Turner Motorsport BMW 330i scored podiums in their respective classes. Bill Auberlen and Chris Gleason now lead the Grand Sport Driver's Championship heading into the third round of the season. The #97 H&R Springs/Turner Motorsport BMW M3, piloted by Will Turner and Don Salama scored their second-straight top ten finish. Ironically, the winners in both classes were penalized for technical infractions but were allowed to keep their race wins.     Racing In The KONI Challenge Series Resumes After 2.5 Month Break HOMESTEAD-MIAMI SPEEDWAY, Homestead, Florida (April 10, 2007) -- After a long break racing resumes in the Grand-Am KONI Challenge this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway in South Florida. The Turner Motorsport BMW team has been hard at work after the season-opening round at Daytona in January but is anxious to get back to racing for the next two weekends in Florida and Iowa. The season opener at Daytona was a successful start to the season for the trio of Turner BMWs - third and tenth place in the Grand Sport class (BMW M3) and seventh place in the Street Tuner class (BMW 330i), with team drivers Bill Auberlen and Chris Gleason leading the way in the #96 Motul Lubricants/H&R Springs BMW M3.   • Automatic Racing Gets on Track with Fresh from Florida at Homestead
    HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Automatic Racing heads into round two of the KONI Challenge Series this weekend at Homestead-Miami Speedway, a track where the team has had plenty of success in previous seasons. The team will be aiming for the podium with the Fresh from Florida BMW M3s in one of Florida’s most vibrant agricultural areas. The KONI Challenge Series has visited Homestead twice since Automatic Racing joined the series in 2002. Both times, Automatic drivers stood on the podium after earning third-place finishes. Jep Thornton and Jeff Segal will share the No. 09 Automatic Racing/Fresh from Florida BMW M3, which stands out with its grapefruit pink color scheme.   • Automatic Racing’s Tim George, Jr. Returns to Homestead with New Sponsors
    HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Tim George, Jr. has plenty of reasons to like Homestead-Miami Speedway. The 26-year-old driver will return to the site of his first career podium this weekend, driving the No. 91 Automatic Racing BMW M3 in Sunday’s KONI Challenge Grand Sport race. George got his start in racing with the Skip Barber Southern Series, and his first podium finish was a second place at Homestead. He later earned a third-place finish at the 2.3-mile course. In addition to his racing success, George is also a graduate of the University of Miami. He lived in Miami for five years, and Homestead feels like a home track.   • TEAM KMA DRIVERS LOOKING GOOD AT VIR
    Alton, VA  - Team KMA Drivers Julia Landauer, Jeffrey Petriello and Mike Hill took to the track this weekend at the second Official test for the 2007 Formula BMW USA Championship. Jeffrey Petriello posted the fastest time of the second session during the final day and finished 4th fastest overall for the two day test, while Julia Landauer posted the 4th quickest time of the final session of the second day and finished 8th fastest overall. Mike Hill missed almost all of the first day due to an engine failure and finished 15th fastest overall for the weekend. "It was a successful test for our drivers who have never seen this track before this weekend," stated Jon Lewis, Team KMA co-owner. "We put a lot of miles on these cars this weekend, more than we would have liked and it was unfortunate that Mike's engine blew apart on the morning of the first day. Valle Makela (Nexa Racing) and Rookie Marcus Ericsson (Fortec Motorsport) both enjoyed a great start to the season claiming a pole position apiece for the Formula BMW UK Championship 2007 opening rounds on the Indy circuit at Brands Hatch tomorrow. Henry Surtees (Carlin Motorsport) sealed two second positions, topping the Rookies for Round 1. After an extremely wet practice day, the track dried out just in time for the first qualifying sessions of 2007 and, for the first time, the line-up of 18 young drivers were able to see how they measured up on the grid. 21-year old, Valle Makela's experience shone through as he got straight on the pace in the first session to claim pole for the opening round tomorrow morning, followed by fourth for Round 2.
