  • Team PTG BMW M3s to start third, fourth, fifth and seventh for Speed GT Round 4 at Lime Rock Park
    In a very wet 9:00 a.m. qualifying session for today's second of two Speed GT races this weekend, the four BMW Team PTG M3s qualified third, fourth, fifth and seventh for Round 4 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn.With a lap of 1:11.418 around the 1.53-mile Lime Rock circuit, Bill Auberlen set the third fastest time in his No. 7 Team PTG M3. In fourth, with a lap of 1:12.300, was the No. 6 Team PTG M3 of Boris Said. However, Said suffered a heavy crash on his last lap and the crew will have a long one hour and 45 minutes to try to get his M3 ready for the 11:15 a.m. start. HansStuck set the fifth fastest time (1:13.562) in the No. 8 BMW Team PTG M3.   • BMW TAKES SPEED GT MANUFACTURER'S CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS LEAD WITH A SECOND WIN AT LIME ROCK PARK
    BMW moved into the Speed GT Manufacturer's Championship points lead with Bill Auberlen's second Speed GT win of the weekend, leading BMW Team PTG in first-, third- and fourth-place finishes in Round 4 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Lime Rock Park today in Lakeville, Conn. This win follows Auberlen's victory on Saturday, in which he led a one-two and five result in the third round of the series.From his third starting spot in a downpour, Auberlen drove his No. 7 BMW Team PTG M3 into the lead on lap 27. Auberlen then held off a late-race charge by second-place Randy Pobst in an Audi to win the 40-lap contest around the 1.53-mile Lime Rock circuit by a 6.241 second margin of victory over Pobst.     In a very wet morning qualifying session before today's first of two Speed GT races this weekend, the four BMW Team PTG M3s qualified fourth, sixth, 12th and 25th for Round 3 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn.With a lap of 1:11.196 around the 1.53-mile Lime Rock circuit, Boris Said set the fourth fastest time in his No. 6 Team PTG M3. In sixth, with a lap of 1:12.328, was the No. 8 Team PTG M3 of Hans Stuck, and starting his second race for BMW Team PTG, Justin Marks put his No. 80 Team PTG M3 in 12th with a time of 1:15.698.   • AUBERLEN GIVES BMW TEAM PTG ITS FIRST SPEED GT VICTORY AT LIME ROCK PARK
    Bill Auberlen led BMW Team PTG in a one-two and five finish in today's Round 3 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville, Conn. Making a spirited charge through the field under dry conditions, Auberlen took the lead from the No. 2 Audi on lap 21 after starting from his last-row, 25th starting position. He drove his No. 7 BMW Team PTG M3 to BMW Team PTG's first Speed GT victory. The 50-minute race ran 42 laps around the 1.53-mile circuit, five of which were completed under a full-course caution flag.   • Auberlen And Said Top Friday's Speed GT Practice
    A light mist to a steady rain fell through out the first of today's two 20-minute practice sessions for Round 3 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship as 22 competitors took to the slippery 1.53-mile Lime Rock Park circuit to begin the Lime Rock Grand Prix weekend.It was a good start for BMW Team PTG as Boris Said paced the field with a lap of 1:09.10 in his No. 6 BMW Team PTG M3 with teammates Bill Auberlen (1:10.559) and Hans Stuck (1:10.984) in third and fourth.     Bill Auberlen took the long road to a very close fourth-place finish to lead BMW Team PTG to strong fourth-, fifth-, sixth- and eighth-place finishes today in Round 2 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. Phil McClure took his second win of the season in his No. 73 Corvette in the 30-lap contest.Starting his No. 7 BMW Team PTG M3 from the pole, Auberlen jumped the standing start and was forced to the pits on lap five to serve a stop-and-go penalty.     In a qualifying session that was red-flagged just minutes after it began because of a massive oil spill and a resulting two-car accident, the four BMW Team PTG M3s did very well to stay out of trouble to qualify first, third, fifth and 11th for Round 2 of the SCCA Pro Racing Speed GT Championship at Mosport International Raceway in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.With a lap of 1:24.928 minutes around the 2.459-mile Mosport International Raceway Bill Auberlen put his No. 7 Team PTG M3 on the pole.   • A Second Test Session Complete, BMW Team PTG Heads to Mosport For Round Two of SCCA Speed GT
    WINCHESTER, Va. (May 15, 2003) - BMW Team PTG completed another productive test session last week in advance of the second round of the 2003 SCCA Speed GT Championship race at Mosport International Raceway on May 18 in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada.This second test, at Summit Point Raceway in West Virginia, included all four of Team PTG¹s BMW M3s. The team feels it is now ready to attack the often treacherous 2.459-mile circuit outside of Toronto, a site where the team has enjoyed success in past years.In endurance races in 1995-2001, BMW Team PTG took home victories at Mosport in 1996, 1997 and 1998, and finished second in 1999 and 2000.     With more than 60 cars from the SCCA Pro Racing Speed World Challenge Touring and GT classes practicing on the 2.459-mile Mosport International Raceway today in advance of Saturday's qualifying for Round 2 of the 2003 series to be held on Sunday, BMW Team PTG found the track a bit crowded and elected to approach the first two 30-minute sessions very carefully.PTG newcomer Justin Marks' second session ended with a damaged front end after sliding on oil and off the track. The crew repaired his No. 80 BMW M3 and he was able to take a few laps with the Touring Cars in their last session.
